{J} second tallest (but still growing)

Jake has officially passed his dad in height.
Now that he has passed Ty, Kaitlyn, me and Rich, Jake has his sights set on Cason.
I think we are going to have another tall one.

{K} third transfer, third area

Sister Dougall had transfers a couple of weeks ago and she was transferred again!
She was assigned to Springville, Hobble Creek ward with Sister Draper.

Then a week later they welcomed Sister Gomez so they are serving in a trio.
The best part?  They are officially serving in the Spanish area so Kaitlyn gets to use her Spanish!!!
(for more updates on K, check out www.sisterkaitlyndougall.blogspot.com)

{T} says the darndest things

When my kids were younger I would write down funny things that they would say so we could remember them.  As my kids have aged we have grown out of that but just last week T had two pretty good phrases that I want to capture....

"Endless Corner Sheet".... as in "will you help me fold the endless corner sheet".... otherwise known as a "fitted sheet"

"Partway" ..... as in "these clothes aren't dirty enough to go into the laundry but aren't clean enough to go in the drawer.... otherwise known as "dirty"

a different kind of balloon animals

I usually get the kids the cute animal mylar balloons from the store for Valentines and attach a small treat or gift to the balloon.  Except this year I was not planning ahead and Valentines Day fell on a Sunday so I found myself in a bit of a bind.  Luckily I have balloons and I have markers so I made the boys homemade animal balloons for Valentines!!!  I think they have already forgiven me.

{C} he delivers eats

Cason has been so good at delivering Crumbl cookies that he was expanded his delivery services.  During COVID19 there has been a huge demand for restaurant deliveries and Cason has picked up delivery jobs through a couple of different food services.  Sometimes I go with him just to hang out.  I drive while he does all the running in and out of the car and it's quality mother/son time at it's finest.

Oregon Ice Storms

We had a crazy winter storm this week!  While other parts of the metro area had snow, we had freezing rain that lasted a couple of days.  It started on Thursday evening and businesses everywhere just closed up around 6-7 so that employees could get home safely (including Cason who brought home the cookie jackpot when Crumbl had to close immediately and all the cookies got sent home with employees).  The roads were a mess yesterday but then we got the worst of the ice storm last night.  All night long I would wake up to what sounded like gun shots, but it was actually branches in trees snapping from the weight of the ice.  This morning we ventured out and it looked like a tornado had gone down the street, tearing apart the trees in its wake.

the layer of ice on the cars meant we could NOT even open the doors....frozen shut

the ice actually freezes on the individual blades of grass

you can see why the trees got so heavy with ice...it's actually very pretty if it wasn't so dangerous

and this is our neighborhood....trees and branches down everywhere
