Another driver = Another car

T isn't our new driver, but he pointed out that this new car (2011 Jeep Compass) will most likely be the car he drives when he gets his license.  I hope that he is right and that this car sees us through all three of our male teenage drivers.

{J & T} Wrestling Season all wrapped up

J and T have always played basketball in the winter but this year J opted to not play and T didn't want to play rec league (we don't have the boys participate in the select basketball while still in elementary school - too much of a time commitment).  So I thought we were going to have a nice winter without the commitment of games every Saturday. 

Since the boys weren't committed with a sport, I signed them up to do a one week wrestling camp.  And they fell in love with wrestling!  (I didn't see that coming)

Turns out after the camp they encourage the kids to join the wrestling team and I found myself with two wrestlers, complete with Saturday matches throughout December and January.

I can't say I'm a wrestling mom.  And I can't say I love watching my boys wrestle.  But my boys worked hard and were good at what they did.   J went 12-4 and T went completely undefeated until districts.  I loved their excitement for each other and the way they cheered each other on at each meet.

Their coaches told me (on more than one occasion) that J and T were very coachable and that they were hard workers.  One coach said, "I don't know what you do at home, but keep doing it".  I'd love to take credit but these two boys are as amazing as they were given credit for but not for anything I do....they are just that amazing.

{K} Belated Birthday

K's 19th birthday was last week...the first birthday of probably the rest of her life that she will celebrate away from home.  Not an easy thing for a mama, but gratefully there are cute cupcake bakeries in Logan that will deliver a box of cupcakes to a college apartment to let an only daughter know that she is loved and not forgotten!

Last year, during the week of K's birthday, Dear Evan Hansen (the Broadway Musical) was playing in Seattle and I tried my best to secure tickets for the two of us for her birthday.  Unfortunately it was a sold-out hit and we didn't get to see it.  Well, it just so happened that this year, during the week of K's birthday, Dear Evan Hansen (the Broadway Musical) was playing in Portland and I have season tickets so we had a birthday date.  

K flew in the morning of the 31st and we grabbed lunch, made it to her doctor appointment to complete her mission paperwork, went to the first 3 quarters of C's basketball game and then went into Portland to watch the play.

It was SOOOO good!!!

The best part of our  birthday weekend with K was that she got to stay for a couple of days.  Not only did she get to see C play basketball, she got to go to J & T's districts for wrestling.  What a great weekend for her to get to support her brothers and, of course, we loved celebrating her.... 

We love you K and are so proud of you!  You are a beautiful human being and the world is brighter because you are in it.
