Just a typical Sunday night at our house....

 

{K} no COVID here

Remember the summer of 2020 when Oregon remained in lockdown because of the threat/risk of COVID19?

Well, travel across the state line and it was an entirely different experience...  

as in, "What COVID?"

Kaitlyn spent her summer in Utah as a swim instructor and she filled every non-working minute with sun and friends and adventure.

No COVID here...just good times and smiles!

Goodbye Sienna :(

After 14 years of ownership, and over 250.000 miles driven, we finally said goodbye to our 2004 Toyota Sienna minivan.  It was a bit of an emotional goodbye as the van had really come to represent a stage of our lives that is behind us now.  Our trusty Sienna was there to bring home our two youngest as babies and saw us all the way through our two oldest becoming drivers themselves, not to mention all the road trips and adventures in between.

It has been a good ride!

Tackling the "R" word

2020 will be remembered for COVID-19 but I truly hope that it will also be a year that we begin to do better when it comes to race relations within our country.  

I know it's complicated and I don't have all the answers but I recognize that acknowledging that there is a problem is the first step, but please don't stop there.

Educate yourself about the history of black people in America (and the role of white people).

Speak up and call out racism when you witness it.

Do your part to change your own corner of the world in hopes that together we can do better.

Celebrating #21 @ Depoe Bay

Today was Rich and I's 21st wedding anniversary.  

We were invited to spend the day with friends at their rented beach house at Depoe Bay.  

We jumped at the chance to enjoy the day with Jake and Ty, enjoying time together and the beauty of the Oregon coast.

Kaitlyn's second semester was nothing like what anyone could have predicted but despite the "short" it was definetly still "sweet" with plenty of memories...

 

(much needed) Mom's Trip

Remember the summer of 2020 when the moms hadn't had a moment to themselves since March 12th???  (141 days but who is counting?)

This mama is so grateful for dear friends that took a quick over night trip to the Oregon Coast to get some much needed mom R&R.

We drove, we talked, we hiked, we talked, we ate, we talked, we walked, we talked, we shopped, we talked and then we kind of repeated it all on day #2.  

I truly love these dear friends of mine!!!
