{T} Blue Rhino basketball

Introducing the Blue Rhino's...
T may not be the biggest player on the team but that kid has hustle and speed as his biggest assets and he could be counted on each game to make things happen.  So much fun to watch!

Rich has coached at least one season for each of my boys in basketball and this year was T's turn to have his dad as his coach.  They had a great season with lots of wins but the biggest win was the way they worked together (with great coaching) to ensure that every player on the team ended the season having scored at least once.  They worked their plays to give everyone a chance and by the season's end all but one player had felt the success of scoring.  That was the true win of this team!

{J} our latest brace face

Before....
During....
After...

We are officially four for four in the braces department.
Which equates to the cost of buying a new car.
Smile big kids!

{C} Wildcat basketball

Dreams really can come true!!!

In C's case, he has had his sight set on playing on Wilsonville High School's Varsity basketball team since we moved to Wilsonville.
This season he was a "swinger" on the roster, meaning he was on the JV team but limited to play only two quarters JV so that he could reserve the remaining three eligible quarters to be available for Varsity play.
Dream come true.

In truth, as a swinger his playing time was generally only in the 3rd and 4th quarters of the Varsity games but the real value in swinging was that he practiced straight Varsity and that higher level of play/practice really developed C into a stronger, smarter player....not to mention he developed a real brotherhood with his varsity teammates thru practice, team dinners and team travel.

It was a great season for the Wildcats...ending their Varsity season as League champions with an undefeated league season.  C was grinning ear to ear as they cut down the net after the league championship.

Next step....5A state championships....the wildcats are on their way to Corvallis!

As Rich would say, "what is happening?"

Not exactly sure what K said to get her two younger brothers to apply facial masks (and then allow her to take a photo) but evidently that evidently we have underestimated her selling skills.

{K} Decision made

I got an exciting text from K tonight while I was at C's basketball game...she had received her acceptance letter from BYU!  A life long dream fulfilled!

With her acceptance from Utah State already in hand, it was time for K to make a decision.
I thought I'd get home and we'd talk things over and she would take a few days to weigh out the pros and cons.  Imagine my surprise when I got home a couple of hours later and K proudly announced that she had already gone online and declined her admission to BYU.
Just like that!

{J} basketball

Another rec season of basketball for J in the books.
J's real strength is that he is a non-stop energizer bunny.
He will be red-faced & dripping sweat and will still be doing everything asked of him.  The coaches love his determination!
Good, bad or ugly....J will give it all until that last buzzer sounds.
Well done J!
