7 minutes turns fun

This "7-minute" workout has kind of gone viral and I see it all over the web.
There is now even an app for phones that has the workout loaded and allows you to adjust the length of your intervals or the number of times you repeat the cycle....it is a great app to have for a quick workout or when you are traveling....

...or (as it turns out) when your kids need something to do....
My kids borrowed my phone four different days last week so that they could do the workout!

Something about that robot-ladies voice counting down the seconds just makes all my kids want to join in on the fun!

that's one solution...

K is always the last person at the breakfast table.....always.
And it can cause some frustration....some.

Last week she woke up while Rich was out running and decided to be the first one at the breakfast table....

Basketball ends with a bang!

We have spent our past two Saturday's on the sidelines of the basketball court while C's team has competed in two different tournaments.

C's team ended their season with only one loss and ranked #1 which was lot's of fun.
The tournament the weekend of the 24th was hosted at their gym facility and they went into it with high expectations.
Saturday they played two games to "seed" them for the bracket play the next day but sadly they lost both games and you have never seen so many bewildered looking boys :(

The first game was a close one and maybe? they should have won it?  Their coach wasn't there and I am sure that played into it but who knows.

The second game was amazing to watch....sadly for the other team.  The other team had two 5th grade players that were sinking every single 3-point shot that they took.  It was unbelievable!  I was sad for our boys but I had to clap at every one of those shots because they were remarkable - they probably made 10....maybe even 12?
We lost, but in our team's defense, they kept the game close and had those shot's been 2's instead of 3's we could have had the win.

C didn't play the next day, but we found out later that his team had their groove back and, despite being seeded in the "losers" bracket, they took 3rd for the tournie

The next weekend we drove to West Salem to play in an invitational tournament.
C's first game was a bit of a blowout.
As a mom, I always appreciate a large lead (so that I can relax) but I kind of felt bad for the other team.
C's team won 56-32.
(I snapped the photo just as they were clearing the board)

C's second game was the complete opposite....our kids had to work at it and work at it and continue to work at it to keep the lead.  Both teams played so hard clear until the end.
C's team won 54-46.

C had 22 points in the first game and
21 points in the second game!
So excited for him!

I was using my phone and captured a few of his shots (for grandparents to see)....sadly many of my video attempt's did not work because the minute his team would get the ball and I would hit "record", they would have already scored before the phone caught up :)
I'm telling you, it was fast pace!
I haven't heard how they did the next day, but at least they went into Sunday's bracket play with two wins!

Thanks for a great season!
